Genre 1 – Cartoon/Fantasy ideas:
For the game design aspect I think possibly some element of
platforms, but definitely inclusion of puzzles. I want to convey a bright
coloured world with huge colossal monsters, sort of like the feeling of being a
small child and facing something much bigger than you. Architecture wise I’d
like to include designs that hark back to gothic castles, towering Greek
coliseums, intricate Japanese temples as well as small villages made from
timber. Maybe some villages could be high up in the trees, decorated with
fruits and lanterns or down in caves lit by those bioluminescent spores and
fungi. I would like the clothing style to be interesting and intricate but not
too difficult to model, it needs to be relatively simple but different. I’m not
sure about my current designs yet; I’m not too keen on them. It might be
interesting to look into traditional African tribal wear for something a little
different. Need to look more at
different games for monster/creature ideas, though I adore the theme in Grandia
2 of different body parts, I’d like a theme.
