Animal sketches

Try to work out how to get these three standing next to each other. Plan to look at pictures of famous trios, such as the three musketeers, to get a better dynamic between them.

 A slightly more refined rat face sketch. Will continue.

Quick rabbit warrior sketch.

Here I started planning outfits using a tutorial from digital tutors.

I began using shapes to create different looks.

A comic style sketch of one of my characters.

A colour outfit sketch of Biscuit, using some of the ideas from my prior outfit sketches.

Another sketch of one of my different characters but I don't like it so much. I struggled with using red light and I think her outfit doesn't blend well with the era I imagine them inhabiting. 

A more finished piece on my rabbit warrior, due to a power cut I lost a LOT of detail on this and another piece. I'd love to add more details to this and get it to a stage of completion. I'll continue to work on it after hand in.

Rabbit Rogue Lines

Inspiration boards for the rabbit project including photos of my own rabbits on whom the characters are based.

From this quick sketch I chose the image on the far bottom left to develop into a finished piece. 

Rabbit rogue lines in progress. Here I am going over a secondary sketch and refining them in black.

I picked out a basic palette and blocked them in using references to similar coloured rabbits in the black and tan colouration.

I started adding shade and a gradient. I worked on the armour to get a leather like texture.

I started softening the edges of the fur here as well as working on the details such as feathers and beads.

Here is my final piece with a close up sans lines of the face to show the work with fur textures.

 And the final piece with lines, which I decided at the end it looked better with after working without them for a while.
